Construction Skills Queensland Skills Assessment and Gap Training Funding
Construction Skills Queensland is an independent, not-for-profit, industry-funded body supporting employers, workers, apprentices, trainees and career seekers in the building and construction industry.
CSQ provides funding to reduce the financial obstacle to training, making upskilling an affordable option for many more individuals in the construction industry.
Participant eligibility:
For the purposes of eligibility under this Agreement, all Participants under this Program must meet the following criteria. An Eligible Participant for this Program:
MUST BE:
(a) an Australian or New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident; or
(b) a Participant who has the right to work and study in Australia on a VISA and has been employed in the Building and Construction Industry for a period of 6 months or more; and is
(c) an Eligible Worker in Queensland, or is
(d) an unemployed Eligible Worker who has been unemployed for a period not greater than six (6) months in Queensland; and
(e) able to demonstrate RPL experience in 70% or more of the competencies required to complete the full Qualification.
MUST NOT BE:
(f) an Apprentice or Trainee.
(g) through direct credit, be able to achieve more than 50% of the number of the units required to meet the minimum 70% of the competencies for the recognition process.
(h) an Employee of an Authority.
(i) currently enrolled and participating in a Queensland secondary school program.
(j) a contracted trainer or assessor or existing worker of an RTO.
(k) funded by an Authority or such other source for delivery of the same Training being undertaken as part of this Program.
(l) funded for more than one Qualification under this program and the Higher Qualification Program which is 1 x Building or 1 x Civil in the same program period.
(m) Participant seeking a verification of competency.

*A commemorative birth certificate cannot be accepted.
** An International Student Visa is not eligible.

Employed and substantially engaged in the Queensland Building and Construction Industry OR Unemployed for less than six (6) months, in a role which would meet the employed and substantially engaged requirements of an Eligible Worker. | Employer letter on letter head, dated and signed by the employer which confirms: a) the role of the participant; and OR A copy of a relevant QBCC licence, along with confirmation that the participant is undertaking duties that demonstrate they are working in the industry e.g. Payslips, invoices or employment letter; OR A Statutory Declaration providing details of employment which would ordinarily be on the employer letter. |

*An Eligible Worker is defined in the supporting resources for training suppliers.
**An Eligible Worker is employed in Queensland within the Building & Construction industry. Must be substantially engaged in construction, reconstruction, renovating or demolition. Cannot be minor works.
