Estimating Essentials provides the skills and knowledge required to estimate materials, labour and time requirements and establish costs for provision of services or products in basic construction work.

  • Estimating materials, labour and time
  • Calculating materials, labour and overhead costs
  • Preparing costing documents such as quotations and tenders
  • Calculations in square meters, cubic meters and lineal meters
  • Applying profit margin
  • Cost codes
  • Allowances for company overheads
  • Contingency allowances
  • Use of Microsoft Excel formulas.

CSQ provides funding to reduce the financial obstacle to training, making upskilling an affordable option for many more individuals in the construction industry. ^CSQ contributes towards the cost of this course under the small business program. Eligibility criteria applies – enrolling student must be a small business owner or employee of a building and construction business (directly involved in the administrative day-to-day running of the business). OutcomeThis is not a Nationally Recognised Training course.
You will receive a Statement of Completion.
Prerequisites There are no prerequisites for this workshop, however participants are required to have a basic understanding of mathematical principals such as area, volume and perimeter calculations and trigonometry.
Eligibility   Candidates should be able to demonstrate a sufficient level of language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills.
