The Building Industry Fairness (Security of Payment) Act 2017 (BIF) commenced in November 2017. It contains 9 chapters with the key chapters being:
- Chapter 2 – Project Trust Accounts (PTAs)
- Chapter 3 – Progress Payments
- Chapter 9, Part 4 – Amendment of Queensland Building and Construction Commission Act 1991.
Each chapter applies to different parts of the industry and commence at a different time.
