Before you get started
But before we do, here's some useful tips to help you out:
- Don't repair or replace any damaged items, unless you're authorised by the Insurer to do so, or it's necessary to prevent further loss or damage occurring.
- Keep a record of the information about the claim including contracts, photos, video, receipts, invoices, witness or third-party details, etc.
- If the claim involves theft or malicious damage of property, notify the police and obtain the Police Report Number.
- Don't admit any liability for any third-party loss, damage or personal injury.
What you’ll need
Here's what is required to begin:
- Your policy details and contact information
- Business information including your ABN, GST and ITC status
- Incident particulars, including date and location of damage
- Specifics regarding the claimed loss or damage
- Third-party details including names, vehicle details or property damaged as applicable.
