Brisbane builders proved their expert craftsmanship, and resilience during challenging times, at the 2022 Housing & Construction Awards.
From stunning homes and trendy towers to an exquisite mosque, and energy-efficient warehouse, the awards showcased a diverse selection of the best of the best.
Master Builders welcomed a full house to the event at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Center on Friday, 15 July. The caliber of entries in this year's field was nothing short of exceptional, despite the challenges hampering the industry.
The judging panel was delighted with the quality of construction, impeccable finishes, and level of detail on show in every project.
Hampton Homes swept the pool with four awards on the night, including the prestigious Xact Accounting House of the Year title for Welsby New Farm. This radical renovation involved a complete rebuild from the inside out, boasting incredible craftsmanship and stunning fittings. The interiors take advantage of the unique views, maximizing living spaces, and include a natural palette of colors, with extensive use of solid timber flooring and joinery. Judges were impressed with the curved steel and glass staircase which was welded onsite with a seamless finish.
This luxurious home was also named the best Home Renovation/Remodeling Project over $3 million, as well as snapping up Best Residential Bathroom Award and the Robam Appliances Queensland Best Residential Kitchen Award.
Multiplex Constructions delivered the third edition to the Brisbane Quarter project with The One Residences. The 83-storey tower addition to the 300 George Street development won the coveted Professional Certification Group Project of the Year Award, as well as best Residential Building (high-rise over 3 storeys) over $20 million and the HBA Legal Excellence in Workplace Health and Safety Award.

Our judges acknowledged it was a difficult job for Multiplex Constructions as they had to collaborate with several stakeholders due to the tower's height.
This year the BUSSQ Building Super President's Award was awarded based on the quality of workmanship within the Residential category and took into account the builder's attention to detail and overall craftsmanship.
The stunning, double-level Reynolds Home overlooking Brookwater Golf Course boasts innovative use of construction techniques and superb finishes, earning KJ Constructions the sought-after award.
KJ Constructions also walked away with a win in the Individual Home from $750,000 up to $950,000 category.
Hutchinson Builders was among the other big winners on the night, taking home four awards, including best Commercial Building over $50 million for the Midtown Center commercial tower in Brisbane.
Apollo Property Group counted two community projects among its wins - Health Facilities up to $20 million for the Mater corporate headquarters in Newstead, and Refurbishment/Renovation over $750,000 for the Hamilton Kids Club.
Adam Doughty from Prekaro Projects was awarded Construction Skills Queensland Apprentice of the Year with Christine Moulder from Comoda Design & Renovation taking home the Women in Building Award.
Master Builders CEO, Paul Bidwell, congratulated the winners across all 57 categories.

Residential tower adds style to Brisbane skyline

Radical renovation
Winner of the 2022 Brisbane Xact Accounting House of the Year – Welsby New Farm by 4C Construction Pty Ltd T/A Hampton Homes
This beautiful home enjoys expansive river views and a side boundary looking out to four heritage-listed ancient fig trees. The radical renovation of this property involved a complete rebuild from the inside out, with new exterior and interior walls and new structural beams for a pillar-less interior.
This home boasts a 4.5m long Murano glass chandelier called 'Infinity Rain', the only one in Australia, and it appears like a slow-motion waterfall.

Family home on golf course for modern living
Winner of the 2022 Brisbane BUSSQ Building Super President's Award – Reynolds Home Brookwater by KJ Constructions (Qld) Pty Ltd
This stunning, double-level family home by KJ Constructions boasts innovative use of construction techniques and superb finishes. The bespoke design positively utilizes the sloping site to provide views over Brookwater Golf Course from multiple rooms.
This home delivers features including an exposed concrete slab ceiling and conventional trussed roofing to provide modern, stylish living. A truly multigenerational home with large living areas on both levels is perfect for those who love to entertain.
