Bidwell to navigate builders through stormy waters

17 May 2022

Paul Bidwell will step up as CEO of Master Builders Queensland, following more than 12 years with the association, eight of those as Deputy CEO.

Since joining the Master Builders team in 2009, Paul has been instrumental in leading the industry association’s policy and advocacy charge, as well as supporting the Board and Senior Leadership Team through what has been an incredible decade of transformation and change.

Paul has spearheaded numerous lobbying and advocacy campaigns, made significant inroads towards creating and improving building industry policy to benefit all in the industry and ensuring Master Builders place as the industry’s peak body.

Master Builders President, Ralf Dutton said the Board was delighted to appoint someone of Paul’s calibre and industry experience, and a figure who genuinely understands the needs of members and the industry.

“Paul certainly has his finger on the pulse when it comes to our membership base. It’s this intimate understanding of what our members need and how the industry works that has seen him be responsible for some of our biggest lobbying and advocacy successes, as well as ensuring our policies and recommendations are directly reflective of members’ needs.

“Paul’s efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic were instrumental in achieving relief and stimulus for the industry and he has been a voice and passionate advocate in recent times as the industry was hit with the perfect storm of cost hikes and labour and material shortages.

“He is a regular and sought-after figure at a variety of our member and other industry events and committees – he has the ear of industry stakeholders and is regularly sought after for commentary on all things building.

“Paul will continue to be the face of our industry in the media and in his role as a key influencer, working regularly with the Queensland Government on the issues that matter most to our industry.

“We know the association and our members are in good hands with Paul, as he takes over the reins and leads us towards continued growth.”
