Major winners
Cottage transformed into two-storey masterpiece
Winner of the 2023 Downs & Western BUSSQ Building Super President’s Award – Dunmore by Urbane Build
Dunmore showcases a wonderful transformation of a single-storey cottage, into a modern two-storey family home. To renovate and raise the original cottage, the Urbane Build team lifted the 100-year-old home and built underneath utilising copious amounts of steel during its construction.
The project has been expertly executed from start to finish, with no detail left overlooked. Using natural timbers, white finishes, custom welded balustrades, engineered timber floors, soft shear curtains, and electric blinds has resulted in a beautiful and fully functional home for the new age family.
Being in a heritage precinct was not without its challenges as the builder created a seamless transition from the cottage-like façade through to a modernised extension - the result, a stunning home that is sympathetic to the original cottage.
